Muskoka/Haliburton/Orillia (Muskoka, Haliburton, Orillia, Bracebridge, Huntsville)

The District of Muskoka touches two bodies of water: Georgian Bay and Lake Couchiching. The district includes the City of Muskoka itself, Bracebridge, and Huntsville. Orillia and Haliburton are nearby, members of Simcoe County and Haliburton County respectively. The greater area, including all five locations, has a population of around 100,000 throughout the year, with an additional 100,000 tourists and seasonal residents during the summer. In Haliburton, there are around 17,000 people. Haliburton is rich in live theater and museums which showcase local talent through a variety of mediums. There are many sports leagues for both children and adults in Haliburton. Also offered are classes and lessons to educate youth on topics such as water, the environment, and wildlife – all important in an area as nature-centric as Haliburton.

Trillium Lakelands District School Board has forty-one elementary schools, seven high schools, and six alternative education and training centers. Schools ensure that students have a well-rounded education while putting a focus on the environment and the history of their area.
